Robert Forsyth - Director
Robert is an award-winning director best known for his strong visual style and a deft handling of understated comedy.
His debut short film Stump premiered internationally at the acclaimed Telluride Film Festival in 2002. At the Western Australian Screen Awards that same year the film won Best Short Film Under 30 Minutes, Outstanding Achievement for Direction, Acting and Writing (for Forsyth). Nationally, the film received both Australian Film Institute and IF Spirit Awards nominations and won Best Achievement in Editing at the St Kilda Short Film Festival.
Since 2004, Robert has directed television commercials in Perth, Adelaide and Melbourne and his work includes the highly praised LotteryWest Scratch 'n' Win Dare and Scrabble campaigns. Dare was the winner of the 2004 Perth Advertising and Design Club Awards' Medallion (Best of Show), was a finalist at AWARD, a winner at the Campaign Brief Awards and featured in the 2005 Australasian publication of The Work. Scrabble won Best of Year for Television Single (X) and Television Campaign at the Campaign Brief Awards and picked up five gongs (two Gold, two Silver and a Bronze) at the 2006 PADC Awards, including a Gold Award for Direction.
